IPhone 17: The new generation of Apple smartphones, with all the details

On September 9, 2025, Apple smartphones were replenished with new iPhone 17 series models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Each model received an updated design, a new A19 chip, improved screens and cameras, an expanded color range and support for the most modern wireless technologies.

iPhone 17

The main iPhone 17 model has a 6.3-inch OLED display with ProMotion 120 Hz technology, Ceramic Shield 2 and up to 3000 nits of brightness, which makes the screen noticeably brighter and clearer in sunny conditions.

Thanks to the new A19 processor, the novelty provides higher performance and energy efficiency than the previous generation. And the built-in N1 chip is responsible for providing Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread technologies. This improves the performance of AirDrop, Hotspot and wireless devices. The novelty has a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle main camera and a 12-megapixel 2x telephoto camera.

The basic model offers 8 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB of internal memory.

The base model was presented in five color options: black (Black), white (White), lavender shade (Lavender), light blue (Mist Blue), green (Sage).

iPhone Air

As already known from sources close to Apple, instead of the iPhone 17 Plus, Apple introduced the iPhone Air model. This version is the thinnest Apple smartphone in the company's history (5.6 mm) with a 6.5-inch screen with support for 120 Hz and Always-On modes. It is equipped with a high screen brightness indicator, which makes using the smartphone more comfortable in sunny conditions.

The iPhone Air is powered by the A19 Pro chip, has 6 processor and 5 graphics processor cores.

The novelty has a combined version of the C1X chip, combines Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Thread modules. This is the second generation of Apple's own chip, which debuted in the iPhone 16e.

The iPhone Air is equipped with a 48-megapixel camera. There is a regular mode and a x2 telephoto camera.

The novelty offers versions with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB of internal memory.

There is no physical SIM card in the iPhone Air, only eSIM for all regions. Improved power-saving algorithms based on AB and full-day autonomy without recharging have been introduced. The smartphone was accompanied by a MagSafe battery.

iPhone 17 Pro / Pro Max

The iPhone 17 Pro series has returned to aluminum. Recall that the previous two generations were made of titanium. The design of the back cover has changed: an isolated coating has appeared in the area of ​​​​the camera block.

The “Pro”, like the Air, received an A19 Pro chip, which promises 40% more power in games and other long-term loads.

The back cover is no longer made of glass, but is made of ceramic shield coating. It is stronger than glass and less prone to scratches.

All three cameras of the smartphone received a 48-megapixel sensor. The camera supports 4x and 8x zoom, and digital zoom up to 40x.

Video recording has been improved: support for recording in ProRes RAW format has appeared.
