NEO is powered by the A18 Pro chip, which, by the way, is also the smartphone engine of the iPhone 16 Pro. On the Mac, it works without a fan. MacBook Neo is completely silent; the computer can be placed on any surface, like a MacBook Air.

A 5-core GPU handles games and creative projects without a noticeable drop in performance. A 16-core Neural Engine powers Apple Intelligence, including text summarization, a Clean Up tool in photos, and real-time translation.

There is a nice nuance: the keyboard matches the case, but it is not easy to notice. When you put the green and pink Neo models side by side, the difference is noticeable, but in reality the keyboard just looks white.

The Neo is the first MacBook to feature a 13-inch display. The Air has a 13.6-inch diagonal, while the Air with M1 has a 13.3-inch diagonal. In other respects, everything is at the level of the older models ... almost. The same quality display has been introduced as in the new Air and Pro models: Liquid Retina with 2408x1506 pixels, 60 Hz and up to 500 nits of brightness.

MacBooks with Apple Silicon are particularly known for their battery life. They last a long time, and the Neo is no exception. Apple promises up to 11 hours of web browsing time, which is shorter than the Air's 15 hours of web browsing time. However it's still significantly better than its x86-based Windows competitors.

The base 256GB configuration doesn't have Touch ID, instead it just has a lock button. The scanner is only included with the 512GB model.

The keyboard has been left without backlighting. Instead, Apple has made it white (a shade that matches the case) with black lettering so that the keys are visible in the dark.

The camera lacks the features of the new iMacs and MacBooks: there's no Center Stage or Desk View, but instead there's a standard FaceTime camera with 1080p recording.

There's no MagSafe, which means one of the two ports will often be occupied by charging.

The trackpad doesn't have the Force Touch feature found on older MacBook models.
